Größer, schneller, weiter… diese Schlagworte gelten heutzutage eigentlich überall in unserer Gesellschaft. Und das gilt natürlich auch fürs Reisen. Keiner bricht in Begeisterungsstürme aus, wenn man erzählt: „ich fahre nach Österreich zum Wandern!“ Erwähnt man allerdings, dass die nächste Reise nach Australien geht, hört man nichts anderes als „Wow“, „Echt?“ und „Toll, da wollte ich schon immer mal hin!“
Ich denke, es ist einfach die gefühlte Unerreichbarkeit und die große Entfernung, die solche Ziele als besonders reizvoll erscheinen lassen. Aber wer hat eigentlich gesagt, dass es in der Nähe nicht auch viele schöne und interessante Sachen zu entdecken gibt. Denn es ist schon ein Armutszeugnis, wenn man zwar die Hauptstädte fast aller afrikanischen Länder kennt, aber auf der anderen Seite die deutschen Bundesländer nicht zusammenbringt.
Neulich abends im Fitnessstudio bin ich dann in einer Frauenzeitschrift auf einen Artikel gestoßen, in welchem Wochenendtrips in europäische Städte empfohlen wurden. Dabei fiel mir dann auf, dass ich zwar schon in Kapstadt, Shanghai und New York war, aber noch in keiner der dort empfohlen Städte. Dazu gehörten zum Beispiel Salzburg, Madrid oder Amsterdam. Was mir allerdings besonders auffiel, war Heidelberg. Keine 200 Kilometer von uns entfernt liegt diese Stadt, die zu den 10 schönsten Europas zählt. Zu entdecken gibt es hier sicher genug: die gemütliche Altstadt, das Schloss und die Universität.
Also stand der nächste Wochenendtrip fest. Unter www.heidelberg-marketing.de holte ich mir zunächst Anregungen und Ideen zu Restaurants, Hotels und Stadtführungen.
